The 2000 Oliver's Taranga Vineyard HJ Reserve Shiraz is a full-bodied, deep ruby/purple-colored wine with a long finish:

1. Flavor: Sweet, concentrated, earthy, blackberry, currant, dark chocolate, mocha, mulberries, and Dutch liquorice
2. Texture: Terrific
3. Finish: Long, low acid, plump, and heady
4. Nose: Dusty and flowery

The 2000 Oliver's Taranga Vineyard HJ Reserve Shiraz was the first release of an Oliver's Taranga Reserve wine. It was made from 100% Shiraz and aged in 80% New French Oak. The wine was created to honor the memory of H.J. "Bert" Oliver, who planted the "old block" Shiraz in 1948.
